Why this petition matters
On June 17, 2022, Whitfield County Planning and Zoning received an application for Amendment of the Unified Zoning Ordinance/Map. The rezoning request of approximately 34.3 acres on Wheeler Dam Dr. from GA. Agriculture to R-4 zero lot line residential was made by owner Wheeler Dam Rd Properties, LLC with plans to create up to 10 single family homes per acre.
We, the undersigned, agree that the request from Wheeler Dam Properties LLC. Should be denied. We feel rezoning to R4 Zero Lot Line would negatively affect the surrounding residents and does not have an existing road system to sustain the traffic of an increase of up to 340 homes.
We sign the petition because we care about the residents of Wheeler Dam Rd., Wheeler Dam Dr. and the surrounding areas. The quality of their life and safety we feel will be permanently and negatively impacted if this rezoning proceeds.
