Opposing Route of NEXUS Pipeline in Ohio

This petition had 928 supporters

The NEXUS Pipeline is a 36 inch high pressure natural gas transmission line that will snake through Ohio, Michigan and end in Canada. My town, Green, Ohio is being impacted negatively by this pipe line as it will affect homes, sports fields, wetlands, bogs, waterways, endangered species and even go under a reservoir where my family kayaks. My friends are being contacted to survey their properties and would have no choice but allow the new right of ways through their property. Kids are losing their wooded areas including their tree houses!!!!!

The sad facts:

Pipeline length in Green: 8 miles (2 miles longer than Green is wide)

Waterbodies Crossed: 22

Wetlands Crossed: 10, 094 ft

Buildings within the blast zone: 50 (including homes)

Parks affected:

Nimisila Reservoir Metro Park where bald eagles nest, people camp, fish, boat with electric motors only and ice fish.

Ariss Park has football and lacrosse fields, a dog walk area and a forested wetland area.

Greensburg Park has baseball diamonds, open fields and a playground.

Singer Lake Preserve owned by the Cleveland Museum of Natural History is home to several endangered and threatened species, is a fragile and important ecosystem.

This environmental impact of a failure of this pipeline would be horrendous.

Please consider signing the petition to re-route this pipeline.
