I am sure that the intent of this act was never to allow developers to circumvent existing laws to the point that the impact on the community and infrastructure of that community was so adversely burdened. I believe this works only in the developers self interest and that certainly was not the spirit behind the Act

This will cause unnecessary overcrowding and burden on this small Connecticut Town. Just because you can fit something, doesn't mean you have to maximize it, especially at the expense of other laws, property and personal rights. Planning and zoning is done for a reason and all the other owners in this Town bought property based on the local planning and zoning and the process that is in place to accommodate their rights. This is NOT a high rise community nor should it be. This Federal legislation was NOT written with the intentions of severely imposing negatively on all other aspects of a Town's planning and operations including public works, fire and police, schools, health, safety and welfare.
All these elements must be developed within reason, with fair and just representation with proper studies and void of sole financial gain to developers and politicians. As an architect and builder and homeowner neighboring this project by 1 block - I strongly oppose this particular proposal. I am not interested in having new neighbors being taller than the trees and look into my property from a block away and be a part of my skyline view. It is simply unreasonable and unlawful.

Both of these proposals are absolutely outrageous and need to be stopped. We could debate the merits of a smaller, less intrusive development on both of these sites. However, what this developer has proposed is using well-intended, but poorly drafted state laws to circumvent well reasoned local zoning laws and ordinances. This developer is throwing the safety and well being of our community aside for their own profit, and they are hiding behind these improperly drafted state laws to do it. As a long time resident, I'm outraged that this is even being considered.

Concerned about traffic. This will mean a minimum of approx 600 more people living on the Post Road. Could create crowded schools and an eye sore to the town.
