Oppose the Rezoning of Delhi Township's Residential Hillside Area

Oppose the Rezoning of Delhi Township's Residential Hillside Area
Why this petition matters
The Delhi Township Trustees are about to vote on an important rezoning issue that majorly impacts the citizens of Delhi Township and Riverside. This vote is expected to take place at a Township meeting on Monday, 5/9/2022.
BRG Realty Group (owner of existing Indian Lookout Apartments on Anderson Ferry) has submitted this rezoning request to Delhi Township to rezone 98 & 134 Anderson Ferry Road (existing wooded and hillside areas zoned only for residential) to Planned Unit Development (PUD) to clear the way for the development of four new three story apartment buildings with 96 units.
These apartments will be located directly behind residential properties on Clareridge Ct and Clarebluff Ct in Delhi Township.
Delhi Township's own Zoning Commission has already recommended denial for the proposed request at a meeting that took place on 11/17/2021.
If the Delhi Township trustees vote "Yes" on this rezoning request it will immediately have a major negative impact on a beautiful residential community set in a wooded area. This development will cause innumerable water drainage issues, hillside erosion issues, permanent disruption of wildlife, decreased property values for long-time Delhi Township residents, and the destruction of many mature trees.
Much of this area is located in a hillside district that is unlikely to be safely developed.
The residents of Delhi Township and Riverside strongly oppose the development of this land for the aforementioned reasons and will continue to oppose any planned development of this hillside and forest adjacent to our residential property.
If the Delhi Township Trustees truly believe in supporting their residents, they will stand united with us and vote "No" on this rezoning request.
