A hearing is to be held in Erickson on April 13th, 2022 to have  Pt. S1/2 of 2-18-18W adjacent to Otter Lake re-designate from Rural Agriculture to Seasonal Recreation to accommodate the development of a 100 lot RV Park.  

The current owners of cottages at Otter Lake would like to ensure this land remains Agriculture per the following report. 

Manitoba Environment and Workplace Safety and Health a Recreational Development Capacity Study of Six Lakes in the South Riding Mountain Planning District (1986) 

As Stated in the report "The report was completed to develop a guideline for recreational development so that lake water quality was maintained, that the aesthetic appeal of the area was not impaired and that prospective water based recreational activities could be safely accommodated."  

"Otter Lake was found to be hyper-eutrophic, meaning that the water quality generally is not considered suitable for body contact recreational purposes.  It was determined that Otter Lake was unsuitable for any permanent recreational development."

The water quality of Otter Lake has not been addressed or improved since this report and we feel that the land adjacent Otter Lake should there for remain Agricultural.  No new recreational developments should be allowed.
