Oppose High-Density growth & Hawthorne Yards Annexation into La Plata, MD Res # 22-04
Why this petition matters

There are two resolutions being considered by the Town Council to annex property into the town and develop high-density housing and businesses. Both of these are on Rt 225 near Quailwood Dr.
Resolution 22-05 – Hawthorne Yards – Proposed nearly 200 homes, town homes and businesses. The hearing date for this resolution is currently set for July 18th, at 6:00pm both virtually and at the Town Hall. La Plata - Meeting Information (civicweb.net). The time to act is NOW!
AND
Resolution 22-01 - The HUB at LaPlata – Proposed nearly 1600 homes, plus businesses destroying over 5M square feet of forest and a fragile ecosystems. There is no infrastructure being added to support this. Think of all the congestion and strain to public services and schools!
