PETITION: Oppose the Expansion of Construction Noise Hours in the City of Miami

Agenda Item – City Commission Meeting, Thursday, April 10, 2025

We, the undersigned residents of the City of Miami, strongly oppose the proposed amendment to extend construction noise hours to:

 • 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday through Friday

 • 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturdays

This proposal would rob residents of peace, quiet, and livability — adding two extra hours of disruptive construction noise each weekday and extending it further into our weekends.

We are already burdened by:

 • Constant construction across the city

 • Traffic congestion and limited parking

 • Air pollution and dust

 • Ongoing noise that disrupts rest, work, and quality of life

Further extending these hours will cause serious harm to our health and well-being, especially for families with children, seniors, and those who work from home.

We urge the City Commission to prioritize the needs of residents over developers and vote NO on this proposal at the April 10th meeting.
