Developer is requesting a height variance on two proposed condo buildings of 4 storeys each on steep forested slope across from Lighthouse Pub on Marine Way in Sechelt. In the Official Community Plan it states the maximum height for buildings in our area of West Porpoise Bay is 3 storeys or a total of 10.5 metres (34.4 feet). Developer wishes to increase heights by 4.8 metres (15.7 feet) for building #5 and 5.95 metres (19.5 feet) for building #6. The proposed total height of building #5 is 15.3 metres (50 feet). The. proposed total height of building #6 is 16.45 metres (54.9 feet). This will result in increased traffic (approximately 50 more vehicles) on Marine Way and 32 more residential units using limited water resources. It will also impact water views of neighbouring properties.
