Willoughby Council is facing a $21 deficit. It fails to fix and repair and do basic maintenance. Neverthless it wants to waste money on a trial closure of Bellambi Street. They think this will not adversely affect shop keepers, shoppers and motorists. Who will sit in a closed off Bellambi Street.

Road closures are rarely a good idea. Willoughby and suburbs are already full of them.

This is a major thoroughfare into and out of Northbridge. It will throw more traffic onto side streets. Go and look at the chaos in Pitt Street City with three of four lanes closed. Cars are getting wider. Streets are not. Please sign this petition and do not attend the celebration of the opening next Wednesday night.
