Dr. Oz did a story on pet fatalities at Grooming salons. This was one sided and he did not bring on a grooming professional to help redeem the reputation of our industry. This story put fear into millions of people unnecessarily and could greatly affect the lives and families of grooming salon owners and employees that have a great passion for the welfare of animals, and have nothing to do with these incidents spoke about on the show. The other side needs to be told, such as pet parents need to assume some responsibility as well. Dogs that are obese, in poor health, uncontrollable because of lack of training or not used to being professionally groomed are at greater risk to be injured at a grooming salon. There are SO many things pet parents can do to avoid these issues, but it is much easier to blame groomers than it is to take blame for their own neglect. Groomers should just start turning away these types of neglectful owners and we would see far less of these occurrences in the grooming industry. I sure hope Dr. Oz will back up this segment with a follow up from an educated groomer to tell our side of the story
