The grounds of Newtown blocks are for all of local residents. Recently NKDA has imposed a time limit for using the grounds and several complicated methods for accessing the grounds. This is totally unethical and anti-resident rule.
We, Democratic Youth Federation of India (Newtown Jyoti Basu Nagar Local Committee) demand that fields should be kept open for all of the residents throughout the day. Girls and boys of the locality should be allowed to use the block ground. We are strongly opposing the decision made by New Town Kolkata Development Authority (NKDA). They have decided to keep the grounds open for a specific time period which is not acceptable after paying a hefty property tax to NKDA.
