Open letter to President Biden to denouncing US Policy in Haiti: SAVE HAITI
Why this petition matters

Mr President.
What do you want to do with Haiti? My question is simple but daring, because I am addressing the leader of the first world power, as a Haitian I suffer deep inside me, to see my country collapse under the complicit silence of your administration.
In the name of Democracy and the principles of the third generation of human rights, therefore I appeal to you President of the United States of America, I appeal to your faith, your humanity, your wisdom and your international political experience, to stop the annihilation of a country, my country: Haiti.
What do you want to do with Haiti? I come back to my question.
On July 28, 1915, the then American administration gave itself the right to intervene in Haiti, and to place it under guardianship because of the political instability, and the insecurity that prevailed at that time. the. Let's remember the facts: Nearly 7 presidents in 4 years, the last of whom was assassinated by a mob. Unparalleled political instability, insecurity grew, misery began to set in. Several compatriots have in spite of themselves, welcomed this intervention which brought back for two decades a certain stability, political in particular if I refer only to what the American press said.
This July 28, 2022, still recalls the beginning of this occupation. More than 100 years later, where are we? Even more, how to understand the indifference of your administration? Would the situation which justified the intervention of 1915, which had prompted the administration of the time to act, leave you so indifferent? Let's recall the facts.
For more than a year, since June 1, 2021, the gangs of Martissant and Fontamara have been clashing almost every day, splitting the ten departments of the country into two. On July 7, 2021, President Jovenel Moïse, like Vilbrun Guillaume Sam, was assassinated in his home, in full view of everyone. Without any real reaction from your administration.
According to a UNICEF report, around 500,000 children in the country have lost access to education due to gang-related violence. The future of the children is threatened by the gangs. Many schools in the capital remain empty, closed or inaccessible. Across the metropolitan area, 772 schools are closed in Croix-des-Bouquets, 446 schools in Tabarre, 274 in Cité Soleil, and 200 others in Martissant, Fontamara, Center-Ville and Bas-Delmas.
In another report, A report from the human rights organization RNDDH brings to 471 the number of people killed or missing during the violence between rival gangs in Cité-Soleil, from July 8 to 17, 2022. , 3,000 inhabitants of this commune, the poorest in the metropolitan area of the Haitian capital Port-au-Prince, had to flee their homes.
Note since the beginning of the year more than 625 people have been killed in at least 3 Massacres (Bel-Air, Cité Soleil and Plaine de Cul de Sac), more than 400 Kidnapping, at least 31 Police officers have been killed.
In addition, people's situation has worsened economically. Some have lost their jobs due to insecurity. Others have been impoverished by kidnapping. The majority of the population has no access to health care, with many health centers closed (notably in Martissant and Cité Soleil); Nearly 4.5 million Haitians are threatened by hunger, not to mention more than 45,000 people are displaced fleeing gang warfare.
These are just a few facts. Which is still far from correctly describing the reality.
Why write to you Mr. President?
Shortly before your visit to Little Haiti, when you were running for president, you said in a press release that investing in Haiti's prosperity and security is in the national security interest of the United States. What about today?
Faced with this situation, which strangely resembles and even worse than that of 1915, some people wonder, where is your humanism? Why not a special operation to help us restore peace and security to restore democracy?
Far from criticizing the support of the United States, to the Ukrainians, however Haiti, is only two hours from the greatest power in the world. The country, which has made it a moral duty to preserve peace and democracy in the world.
We Haitians have the right to ask ourselves questions, to distrust your politics. Until when must we continue to suffer from this situation? It is true that it is not up to the Americans to solve our problems. However, the maligned and illegitimate leaders in Haiti, those who are a threat to democracy, still continue to enjoy the support of your administration, Mr. President.
Remember at the Summit of the Americas you declared that your administration is committed to a foreign policy: centered on the defense of democracy and the protection of human rights, however you decided to invite Prime Minister Ariel Henri, a leader corrupt and undemocratic.
Mr. President, what do you want to do with Haiti? Why do you refuse to intervene or to withdraw your support from the illegitimate and corrupt leaders, those over whom there are still suspicions of assassination?
July 28, 1915, The United States wanted to safeguard peace, security and democracy in Haiti; and today, Mr. President, what do you want your country to safeguard in Haiti?
Mr. President, your predecessors have written black pages in the history of Haiti. I address you and your administration to stop the suffering of Haitians, Save Haiti Mr. President.
