Open Grandview Adventist Academy for In Person Learning on January 17th
Why this petition matters
As parents of children who attend Grandview Adventist Academy, we want our children to be in school as soon as it is allowed by the Province.
Having our children in remote learning makes it harder for students to learn, harder for parents to manage our households during the school day, harder to do our own jobs, requires us to ask our families and friends to watch our children, and makes our own life stress intensified. This is even worse if the rest of the province, our employers, other schools, and other services are returned to life based on in-person schooling returning across the province, if Grandview Adventist Academy does not follow the provincial regulations.
We accept that there are risks with COVID-19, but believe our children need the benefits of in-school learning for their mental, physical, and spiritual health. The closing of schools has caused immense mental health challenges for children.
We understand that it is challenging but believe the administration of Grandview Adventist Academy should do everything possible to open for in-person learning as soon as the Province allows as early as January 17th.
We have been committed throughout the pandemic to screen our children daily, and not send them to school sick, even though this has been increasingly challenging and confusing and will do our best to follow the current guidelines.
We commit to continue to support Grandview Adventist Academy wherever possible to facilitate in-person learning.
We ask that the administration of Grandview Adventist Academy TRY to reopen in FAITH, because TRYING and FAILING is better than NOT TRYING AT ALL.
PLEASE CONSIDER OPENING GRANDVIEW ADVENTIST ACADEMY FOR IN PERSON LEARNING AS SOON AS THE PROVINCE ALLOWS.
