Dear Bishop Kelly Administrators/Board,
Many students feel that the closed campus rule at BK is outdated and archaic. BK has taken many steps to update its rules and facilities to make sure BK is one of the best places to get a high school education. However, Boise public schools are all ahead when it comes to having open campuses. BK students come from all over the valley, thus many cannot go home for lunch like a public school. Nonetheless, there is no shortage of fast-food establishments within close proximity to BK. Closed campuses can serve a purpose in certain situations, but the purpose of a closed campus at BK has ceased to be relevant. Another argument is that students will be late to class and that it will cause a disruption to the learning environment. However, this is not a valid argument as students are still required to be in class on time and ready to learn. Students that are late repeatedly should have their privilege to leave revoked. I urge the BK Administrators/Board to discard the antiquated closed campus policy and institute an open campus.
