HUGE capital project approved at OP Schools!
We recently became aware  that OP schools plans to move ahead on a project that had no meaningful analysis of the impacts on the public. 
As part of the $114 million project, OP schools plans a large parking lot and construction of a road through the middle school soccer field.
This will greatly increase the car and bus traffic on Thorn avenue. There was no discussion with the neighborhood as to our potential concerns. We do not believe they have studied the impact on traffic, drainage, noise, light, green space, safety. We have great concern about the quality of life for the residents in our area of the village. We feel the Thorn ave and the surrounding neighborhood had the right to be notified and have input before the project received board approval in March.

We are specifically against the road and parking lot in the soccer field on Thorn. Other parts of the project seem valuable but proper due diligence was NOT done.


The project goes to a public vote 5/17/22 at OPHS.
