Ontario Supreme Court of Justice to repeal the Automatism Defense for sexual assault

On June 4th, 2020 the Ontario Supreme Court of Justice ruled sexual assault accusers or those involved in other violent crimes can now argue they were to intoxicated to realize what they were doing.

As a survivor myself, a law like this will not only make it 10 times harder for people to want to come out and share their story, but also allows the accusers to use a pass and “justify” what they did.

BEING INTOXICATED DOES NOT JUSTIFY  ANYONE ASSAULTING ANOTHER PERSON!

The Supreme Court of Justice needs to see that  people will not tolerate this and change needs to be made.
