Feminine Hygiene products are a need, not a luxury. They must be readily available for youth to access quickly and in a manner that prevents feelings of shame. Many youth experience embarassment and shame in having to ask for product. This form of mental health crisis is absolutely preventable. Product MUST be available in school washrooms; female and gender neutral spaces; and at the very least, available in school offices in a manner where asking is not required. We can help our youth by challenging school boards to implement this plan. Some school boards across Ontario and Canada have already done this. Bluewater District School Board needs to follow suit. There should never be shame around our bodies natural functions. Period shame is real, and it matters!!
