Dominik Prusinski was a kind-hearted 21-year-old man who fought his entire life to overcome his disability of Aspergers and finally seemed to be reaching his goals.  On January 8th, 2017,  his young life was ended when he was stabbed not even a block away from a Durham Region police station located on Centre Street.  Doctors at Sunnybrook Hospital did all they could but unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries the following morning.

Dominik had a heart of gold and was always looking for the good in everyone. He is missed every day by his many friends and family who are shattered by their loss.

His mother who was a single parent did everything she could to help him become the man he wanted to be. A beloved brother of Heidi and Patrik who miss him dearly.  He was proud and excited to be an uncle to his nephew born on April 11th, 2017. He was a very intelligent young man who was looking forward to starting college for multimedia studies, was days away from getting his G2 license and his aunt was going to give him a mustang the day he got his license. he was looking forward to fulling his dreams with his sweetheart, Sarah who he was planning on marrying.

Finally on February 2nd of 2018 after working hard and relentlessly, Durham Regional police announced that they caught the man responsible for the ruthless murder of Dominik. An 18-year-old male who at the time was a minor and would be charged as a minor was taken into custody.

His murderer has since been out on bail, living his normal life for $10,000 and is ONLY facing a manslaughter charge. Since the offender was 17 years old at the time of the crime, he will be looking at a maximum of three years behind bars for taking the life of an innocent man. "If you are 16 or 17 years old and you have been charged with murder, attempted murder, manslaughter or aggravated assault, your trial will automatically be moved to adult court" (legalline.ca).

Dominik never deserved this, he was a gentle giant and wanted nothing more than to help those he loved. Anybody regardless of the situation knows that there is a possibility of taking someone's life if they are stabbed. Please help us get justice for Dominik and his family.
