Refund of student fees for college students affected by Ontario College strike

We were all affected by the College strike in different ways. Students paid fees, did not receive an education for 5 weeks and now the semester is extended. This is causing many different issues, most of them are connected to financial hardships. On Monday November 20th, 2017, the Ontario Provincial Government stated that they set up a fund to support students by offering a $500 refund. However, this is not as easy as it seems. Students have to provide receipts and proof of money that was spent, without knowing that this was needed, and many of the costs will be upcoming due to the extension, so the money has not been spent or received - therefore there is no proof. We are stating that it is understood that each college student affected by the strike in the Fall 2017 semester had financial hardship, therefore, they need to receive the promised $500 without providing any proof or fear of being denied, as they have been affected enough.
