Have Ontario continue COVID-19 reports in schools and send home positive cases.
The upcoming decision to stop reporting COVID-19 cases in publicly funded schools and to no longer require students to be sent home after testing positive is very concerning.
In the midst of the Omicron variant, it is critical to continue reporting cases and preventing the spread of Coronavirus as much as possible. Cases must continue to be reported in order to keep accurate statistics which will aid in combating the spread of COVID-19. The additional decision to stop sending positive cases home is irresponsible and will put thousands of families at risk. Despite the province’s best efforts, we cannot afford to overburden families and overwhelm the healthcare system with preventable infections.
Balancing the re-opening of the province with the well-being of Ontarians is a difficult task but we urge the Government to reconsider these decisions.
