This is something that should’ve already been happening the day I was born 25 years ago. Disgusted with Canada’s education for leaving SOO many holes in history and not knowing anything about ALL my classmates bc we were always so divided. If we had understood each other then I swear we all would’ve had much more diverse friend groups and have been much kinder for one another. THIS NEEDS TO HAPPEN! I want to have kids but they will not be going to a school that doesn’t provide proper historical education as well as educate kids on their backgrounds, cultures, etc. If this happens there will be a massive change in Canada that needs to happen. We much be kinder and we must make sure the generations to come have every resource possible for ALL kids to be treated equally. We can all learn so much from each other. Not only only would this country spread love and kindness but POWER! Power in acknowledging differences and coming together despite that. Wow. I can only imagine.

Racialized voices need to be in the curriculum that honours or voices, struggles, adversities, triumphs in the ongoing resistance of white colonization and privilege.

As an educator this makes sense - ignorance is responsible for a lot of the problems. First, the teachers need to be taught!

Canada nor the usa are systemically racist and I take huge offence to the suggestion that it is ppl of every color and race have opportunity here enjoy the freedom that was fought and cost thousands of Canadian lives for you to be able to enjoy them today the least you can do is learn about the history of the place you call home now something I find immigrants to Canada fail to realize is that you live in Canada now you are Canadian you're not African Canadians or Indo Canadians or Asian Canadians youre Canadians as such you learn about Canadian history you do not expect Canada to teach or adopt the cultures of the places you come from. I don't mean that you forget your heritage it's a part of who you are as a person I'm saying you adopt the culture where you live and incorporate it into who you are but to say that you have any less rights or opportunity because of your race is absurd you expect Canada to conform to you when it is you that should be conforming to Canada. Racism will always exist it is born of insecurities fear jealousy envy and it is not exclusive to any one race all races experience racism so I signed this petition to inform you how wrong it is to force critical race theory implying that Canadians are inherently racist is wrong and misguided

Wow just wow you kids today have no clue you've been brainwashed to believe Canada or even the usa is systemically racist when inherently they are not huge progress has been made and as time goes on it will be removed entirely but Canada and the usa are multicultural and have accepted many different cultures and incorporated them in with our own culture which you critical race theorists always tend to forget that while we accept you into Canada and encourage you to adopt our way of living because Canada has its ow in culture you expect Canada to teach more about other races in Canada no this is Canada you are Canadian learn what it means to be Canadian if you want to know about your original heritage that's your parents job not Canadas. The reason you left your original homes was to come to Canada for a better life for opportunity and many of you are enjoying the fruits of your or your parents efforts to get you here which would be impossible as a systemically racist country so as a Canadian born and raised I take high offense to you calling the country who took you or your family in and offered you a better life and gave you the freedom to call us systemically racist ppl so easily forget you are encouraged to integrate with Canada not the other way around Canada does not change to become more familiar for you you adapt to us and enjoy a better safer freer life for doing so. Racism will always exist in some form or another but if you think that marginalizing, shaming, blaming white Canadians which let's face it is what you are doing then you are trying to cure racism towards you by being racist towards me. I welcome anyone who wishes to live and work and be a part of society in peace and I understand there will be hardships for you there were for us Aswell we have worked hard to create this place we call home and for you to act as if we are in some way treating you unfairly I would suggest you ask your parents who brought you here what Canada has offered you. Again racism will always exist in some ppl and it is not a white only disease white ppl are victims of racism just as much and I would argue more than any other race today. When you live in Canada you learn what it is to be Canadian you don't expect Canada to learn what it is to be where you were from because you are no longer from there you are Canadian now not Indian or black or Asian or Arab in Canada you're Canadian. I don't mean to suggest you forget where you came from just embrace where you are now

It’s not an option when the country calls themselves multi cultural when you only learn about one. EVERY ethnicity must be taught EQUALLY to ensure atleast the future treats everyone EQUALLY.
