Teachers straight of school are paying annual fees regardless of ever being employed.

School boards seldom hire, yet OCT still expects you to pay $150-160 annually to “be in good standing”

I personally graduated in 2016 and have not landed a teaching job in Ontario. I have international teaching experience as well but boards keep pushing for volunteering so that they can use us for free. 

OCT has pocketed almost $1000 from me in these past 5 years. I wonder how many other teachers are in the same position for years now?

There should be an option on OCT renewal page to “freeze” your account when you are not employed so that you are not stuck paying for fees whilst unemployed.
