Social workers and social service workers have continued to provide frontline services to the most vulnerable people in our society throughout the Covid-19 pandemic: in hospitals, hospices, long-term care homes, residences and group homes. Despite their extraordinary efforts and commitment, they were excluded from receving the pandemic pay which was awarded to other health professionals, working in the same environments, by the Ford government. 

They have received no formal recognition for the essential work they continue to do so tirelessly. 

We request that the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers recognize the contribution to society made by their members during this global pandemic by suspending the registration fees for 2021.
