George Brown College had a miscommunication of the program delivery format for semester 2 of the B408 Human Resources Program. Many students received information stating that semester two would be online, and when enrolling in the program assumed that semester two would be online. Due to miscommunication, misinterpretation, and poor phrasing of the program delivery, many students, faculty, and staff members were confused. The Director of the Human Resources program sent out an email, after the deadline to drop the program, stating that not only would the program be in person, but the campus has now changed to a very distant location. George Brown has taken limited accountability and has rather placed the blame for in person courses on the international student requirements, as well as miscommunication. The students of the Human Resources Management program deem this to be an unacceptable response and this petition is to show the department how many students want semester 2 to be online. As Human Resources students, we are taught about accountability, communication, organization and accommodation, and we expect the same demeanour from the college that teaches these qualities.
