Why this petition matters

Started by Gregor Kokal

This is a petition demanding a change of a decision made by The Political Science Programme Board. The decision is a set of policies which came into effect on the 4th of April, 2022. These policies restrict students to take their exams and re-takes online, and demand them to be physically present on the campus, with no exceptions related to coronavirus.

Such measures are problematic for students for the following reasons:

  1. They are potentially dangerous to students with pre-existing medical conditions because they accelerate the potential for them to contract covid.
  2. They are extremely time-consuming for the ones that will have to travel to the Netherlands from abroad.
  3. They impose severe costs on students and push them into an uncomfortable position, where they have to spend a lot of money to have their knowledge evaluated.

This petition demands a change in the set of decisions that came into effect on the 4th of April, 2022. To ensure a safe, non-stressful way of examining, a hybrid system should be provided for the last exam period in a year highly marked by the pandemic.
