We at OneAmerica Votes know the importance of enfranchising new Muslim and immigrant voters in our community and throughout the nation for the 2022 election. 71% of registered Muslim voters in the U.S. cast a ballot in 2020 and that number can grow with our help. We must include the Muslim and immigrant communities of Washington State in our political process. Arm in arm with our brothers and sisters from these communities, we will build a stronger and healthier democracy and protect that democracy from the attacks of extremists in the Republican Party.

Disturbingly, we often see attacks on Muslim and naturalized citizen candidates running for office. Thinly veiled language is used in campaign advertising to scare voters away from electing Muslim leaders or those who may be perceived as Muslim, as well as immigrant leaders and those assummed to be immigrants, even here in Washington State. With this in mind, we are asking all candidates, campaigns, consultants, advocates, organizers, activists, and leaders to sign our Clean Campaigns Pledge. 

By signing the pledge, we are demonstrating our commitment to campaign cleanly, without attacking Muslims or immigrants who are running for office or Muslims who are voting in these elections. We believe any attacks on Muslim or immigrant candidates by our community leaders, especially other candidates, are detrimental to the health and growth of our democracy.
