Period poverty is real and today around one third of Canadian women under the age of 25 struggling during their periods to buy sanitary products. This is a serious issue but due to prevailing period stigma there is little attention given to it.

We are advocating for all women’s such as women’s live in the poverty (sometimes they did not afford a one-time meal for their living, then they will afford these products to ensure their health safety and hygiene), post- secondary students (girls), and international students (girls who pay a lot of fees, rent and manage their expenses by their own compromise with their hygiene products expenses such as quality of product, using a sanitary pad for long time instead of ignoring the instructions about time period mentioned in the instructions. This will cause several infectious or other health problems). Furthermore, we are advocating for the period poverty in Canada and to providing all women’s with free menstrual products or to be fully covered in health insurance, even for the international or post secondary students.

We were decided to right a letter about this issue to the health minister and for that we used the method of signing the petition to create awareness about this issue. So, that our request and issue will be heard or consider by health minister. For that we shared the petition link and poster with different departments of Norquest college such as international student, health studies and student association department and request them to be shared with all students and other colleges heads, classmates, daycare educators or director, and with our knowns.
