Every Wednesday and Thursday at OHS we have 80 minute classes. This is obviously much more than our usual 45 minute classes on all other days of the week. After our minds and bodies have gotten used to sitting in a desk and learning for 45 minutes, these 80 minute classes can understandably feel abnormally long. This often times ends up leading to unfocused, restless, frustrated, students. I, among many others, believe that extended learning days are not beneficial to our learning and may in fact be damaging our information intake instead. For this reason, I believe the Onalaska High School admin should consider abandoning the ELD schedule for the 2022-2023 school year, and all years moving forward.
