We the undersigned petition Oldham Metropolitan Borough Council to Introduce a 20MPH Speed limit along Hillside Avenue in Shaw. Particularly on the downhill stretch and near the bus turning circle near Buckstones School.

Parents and teachers at the school, and other local residents are getting increasingly concerned about the speed cars travel down Hillside Avenue. There have been many reported accidents over the years due to cars speeding on the bend and there have been several near miss incidents. Recently two cats have been run over and killed near the bus terminus.

We would like to see a reduced speed zone implemented before a serious accident happens.

Please sign this petition to to make Hillside Avenue a 20mph zone. We are asking Oldham MBC to put up 20mph signs and a School sign to slow road users and inform them the proximity of a local school and the fact that they are traveling in a residential area.
