Paul Gilbert started this petition to oldham council

Oldham Council won't install speed cameras until there has been death or serious injury due to speeding vehicles - other councils have!

Oldham Councils own speed survey has recorded speeds in excess of more than three times of those posted (30mph) through the centre of the village.

Council's records of accidents do not count non injury related accidents so their figures are not realistic, honest or accurate.

If there is a serious accident on the roads around Denshaw, we all know how quickly these roads will become gridlocked, making the response time of the emergency services severely delayed. It could fall on members of the locality to administer first aid to seriously injured victims.

With the age range of people living in Denshaw ranging from new born babies to people living in retirement there are a lot of vulnerable pedestrians, not to mention anyone with physical conditions that may impede their safety when trying to cross the road.

We need speed cameras BEFORE people are killed or seriously injured by speeding traffic through Denshaw.
