Richard Harding started this petition to Old Dominion University

One of the greatest achievements of modern science is the development of the scientific method for quantifying and explaining natural phenomena such as the motions of planets and behavioural patterns in people.

Dr. Allyn Walker is a social scientist who has been unfairly punished for his assertion that there is little to no research data on a highly stigmatized part of society, an assertion which is demonstrably true due to the complete lack of unbiased research material on MAPs (minor-attracted people). Dr. Walker's willingness to provide much-needed insights into MAPs is nothing short of commendable and the university's decision to castigate a professor for attempting to study this area of society undermines the university's relationship with students, many of whom are themselves MAPs and under constant pressure to remain silent and repress their own thoughts and ideas, often to the point of being forced to speak out against their own people.

By chastising Dr. Walker, Old Dominion University has created not only another setback in humanity's pursuit of knowledge, but tension between students and their academic peers fueled purely by hysteria. The only reasonable course of action is to fully reinstate Dr. Walker as assistant professor at Old Dominion University and to assert that this decision will not be challenged by hate and intolerance.

The alternative is to continue to oppress a peaceful group of people, many of whom are our brothers, sisters and children. A group that is already being constantly pummeled into submission and wrongly linked to sexually violent and abusive criminals, a link that can only be severed through unbiased scientific research and activism.
