With Medicinal marijuana it is important to be able to smell specific terpenes.  This allows patients to stay away from certain strains they have learned to identify via smell or it also allows patients to find strains, via smell, that help with specific medical issues.  For example a patient may get headaches from the terpene Limonene, test results will help to a degree but with a small inhale the patient can easily determine for themselves that a strain has an abundance of limonene.  Allowing the patient the right to use their sense of smell during the selection process of their medicine is just as important as allowing a customer choose generic or Brand label prescriptions.
