#MeToo is Too Late - Change Oklahoma Laws

Approximately 1 in 6 boys and 1 in 4 girls are sexually abused before the age of 18. This translates to 1 child in the United States of America being sexually assaulted every 8 minutes. With this being said, it is safe to say that sexual assault and rape is a highly prevalent issue in the United States before children even graduate high school. Sadly, Oklahoma has no program to make children aware of the issue, keeping students from receiving the best and most thorough education that they possibly can. This petition would encourage a 1 hour a week program for 16 weeks on rape and sexual assault awareness and prevention to be put into place at every middle school and high school around Oklahoma. With this, we would see a decreased number of assaults and an increase in the number of victims speaking out about their assaults. This would also allow Oklahoma's youth to have the best chance that they possibly can at being prepared for the real world. Signing this petition is more than just putting a name on a list, it is the possibility of changing thousands of lives and giving future generations the best education that they could possibly receive.
