I want to provide resources and education about Mental Illness in Oklahoma Schools. Right now so many middle and high school kids are having problems with their mental health. Promoting awareness in schools can help kids who feel uncomfortable with their mental illness open up to their parents, or therapists. According to the CDC, parent therapy is one of the first steps in treating anxiety and deppression. Resources for kids such as therapy can be hard to find. To quote the CDC: "Some families cannot find mental health care because of the lack of providers in their area. Some families may have to travel long distances or be placed on long waiting lists to receive care. Cost, insurance coverage, and the time and effort involved make it harder for parents to get mental health care for their child." If we implement therapists and counselors in our schools then kids can be diagnosed and treated earlier. Resources and education count, and by signing you are helping provide resources and education to those who need it right now.
