Tabitha Abcott started this petition to Oklahoma State House and

We are begging and pleading from the bottom of our hearts for change. In Oklahoma currently negligent homicide is a misdemeanor that is a maximum sentence of up to a year in jail and/or a maximum $1,000 in fines All motorists convicted of negligent homicide must complete a driver improvement or defensive driving class. And the conviction also results in a one-year license suspension. THIS IS NOT ENOUGH!!!

was a 6 year old boy who had his whole life ahead of him. Unfortunately was killed when his mother decided to get high on meth.  ran over her own son. She chose to get high and get behind the wheel. She needs to be held accountable for her actions.

We are asking that Negligent Homicide become a felony. We would like to see up to 8 year prison sentence with a 10,000 fine. This is pretty average compared to other states. We feel that if you purposely do something then you must be held responsible for your actions.

Please help future children. Future moms. Future dads. Future brothers and sisters. Keep not only our kids safe, but our entire community.
