Why this petition matters

In a recent bill passed in Oklahoma, it is now a criminal offense to terminate a pregnancy past a detectable heartbeat, or approximately six(6) weeks. The only exceptions are for persons experiencing a life threatening emergency where termination would save the mother’s life.
In light of this new bill, this is a list of revisions that should be added to each case of forced pregnancy.

  •  Gov. Kevin Stitt be required to attend the funeral of any person who dies in any manner as a direct result of this bill, including but not limited to suicide, birth complications, etc.
  • Gov. Stitt is required by law to tell any and all victims of rape, to their face, that they are forced to carry and give birth to their offender’s baby. This includes minors who are assaulted by family members, and there is a resulting pregnancy.
  • Gov. Stitt is required to attend the funeral of any child that dies in utero, or shortly after birth, due to birth defects.
  • The state of Oklahoma is responsible for the cost of any funeral and all arrangements of any person caused by a forced birth, including adults, children, and their babies.
  • The state of Oklahoma is responsible for the cost of pregnancy, birth, and any/all necessary items required to raise the child until that child reaches the age of adulthood.
  • In the case of a child whose father is not present, for any reason, the state of Oklahoma is required to provide supplemental income to the mother, or require the father to do so, so she can stay home with the child. According to studies, children thrive in families where at least one parent can stay home and provide nurturing care.
  • Any person that gives birth may claim free surgery to repair any bodily damages caused by pregnancy, whether it be cosmetic or medical, provided by the state of Oklahoma.
  • Any person who gives birth is given free mental health monitoring and treatment, before and after giving birth.
  • Any person required to donate the use of their placenta and uterus required for a full term pregnancy is entitled to $10,000 USD (this is already a right according to Oklahoma Organ Donor Satutes, under Title 68- chapter 1, article 23, section 2358).
