THIS IS OKALOOSA COUNTY HEADSTART IN FLORIDA.
Okay facebook, I have refrained from posting this on here for quite sometime now. I have continued to try and find my own way but I have reached so many dead ends and im close to giving up.
My daughter Layla, as most of you know, is a type 1 diabetic who is completely insulin dependent. She attended head start last year, only on the circumstance that her mother worked in the same class. They hired sarah, and allowed layla to attend while sarah took care of her diabetes. This year, they refused to hire sarah due to "limited funds" and they refused layla entry to the school due to the "inability to take care of her and teach other kids". Now keep in mind, this is a public school, government funded. Laylas doctors and case workers that she obtained once she was diagnosed said any government funded school MUST accommodate any child and provide training and or staff to the special needs children. MEANWHILE, my daughters team of doctors and caseworkers offered to take the time out of their day in pensacola, come to niceville, and train her teachers. They all refused, said nope and wont hire any professionals. This is clearly a breach of the ADA which is The Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 which is a civil rights law that prohibits discrimination based on disability which is clearly whats going on here. Had my daughter not be diagnosed with diabetes she would be in that class. SO WHAT IM ASKING.
I have been calling lawyers LEFT and RIGHT.

Please sign the petition so we can prove we have a force behind us to back us up and put this sweet baby in school with the training the school needs or the professionals they should supply! All children deserve their education and being around their peers to promote positive learning and socializing!

-EDIT
i am going to be posting this on so many social media platforms to try and gain national attention that children with diabetes are discriminated against, being refused the education that others are allowed to have just based off her disability! Please help me and share this with the world!
