Ohio State Cosmetology and Barber Board should allow reciprocity for manicurist licenses from other states.

It is completely unfair to many out-of-state individuals that Ohio does not allow reciprocity for their out-of-state manicurist license.

Many of these individuals invested a lot of time and money into rightfully earning their manicurist license. They had to (1) enroll into an expensive course, (2) spend hundreds of hours learning the course materials, and (3) successfully passing the manicurist exam.

It not right to force these individuals to start the licensing process over in Ohio, especially when they've successfully completed this process in another state.

Additionally, many Ohio businesses depend on individuals from other states to relocate to Ohio to fulfill open manicurist positions. If Ohio is making these individuals start the licensing process completely over again, many workers will be unwilling to relocate to Ohio.

Since the pandemic, many businesses are facing much hardships, including finding workers for their operations. If Ohio continues to not allow reciprocity for out-of-state manicurist licenses, they will make it even more difficult for businesses.

It is urgent that the Ohio State Cosmetology and Barber Board reconsiders the recent change and allow reciprocity for manicurist licenses from other states.
