Graduating seniors have been stripped of their senior year and are now being stripped of their graduation. Being promised for 12 years you get these memories and having them taken away in the blink of an eye. Signing this petition shows you support that schools should be able to have a real graduation by following social distancing rules. Let schools host Graduation Ceremonies at their football fields and separate students and families in the bleachers. Let’s help students see their friends walk in person! Let’s help families see their resilient young people succeed! Let’s help give back to these students who have already lost the entire spring of their senior year. They have been promised so much and had it all taken away. By signing this petition you are supporting high school seniors and their attempts to feel a sense or normalcy and make them feel like they matter and their feelings are understood during these trying times. It has already been so difficult for them throughout this experience more than many others because this was supposed to be a year of opportunity and growth and instead it turned into a year of hiding and isolation. These students deserve a chance to feel normal, supported, and heard!
