As an ohioan and avid fisherman, I would like present this petition to Ohio Division of Natural Resources to stop commercial fishing in all ohio waters. Wild caught catfish are being sold to "pay lakes" where they are under fed, over handled, and stressed to the point of death and not being returned to the water ways from which they came from. Let us all put a stop to this in order to ensure a bright future for not only the fish but future generations of anglers. If these pay lakes wish to stay in business we would ask that they purchase a license to do so and only stock their private lakes and ponds with farm raised fish of which they would purchase. These fish are a great resource to Ohio's people and a great past time hobby handed down and taught over generations. Depletion of this great resource would be detrimental not only to the eco systems from which they reside but to the anglers who enjoy them. Please hear our voice!
