This year has been very chaotic for all of us. This pandemic has impacted education; the young generation will have difficulties gaining knowledge from school, let alone a future career. The government and the adults have turned a blind eye to the new year 11s and year 13s. We have went through more struggles than anyone else at school. We have had no change to our exams and we have mocks as soon as we return back to school. We have studied almost half of our subject’s content at home which is completely new to us and some of us can’t study independently and prefer to be taught by a teacher.

Another problem is that it is harder for many Alevel students to secure a place at university due to a lot of successfully appealed previous year 13s will probably be starting in 2021, leaving less space for year 12s. We also don’t want our official exams to be delayed, we have already wasted so much time and delaying won’t help. It will stress all the students and make it hard for the teachers. Delaying the exams will also delay results day, entrance to university and other things.

Year 11 have also missed out on so much content and they will struggle to prove themselves for their sixth forms/colleges. The mock exams sat in year 10 doesn’t cover half the content and this is not accurate if we do have a second lockdown. The students are so behind on their school work and having to suddenly sit official papers at the end of the year will stop many students from doing as well as they would have if this pandemic hadn’t taken place. We didn’t cause this pandemic, if the government did a better job of stopping the virus from spreading, many students would have been back at school studying. The officials should take responsibility for not doing a good job for the people, for us.

Teachers awarded grades is the right way to award these student’s grades. The teachers know the students better than anyone else.

Thank you for reading. Now please sign this petition even if you aren’t in year11 or year13, please do think of us.
