External students around the U.K had been working hard to sit their exams with the rest of current Year 13s. After examinations were announced as cancelled, there was not much information as to what would happen regarding external students for over a month. We were in the hopes that we would have the option to take our exams or, the option to be awarded our predicted grades as a calculated grade as they are based off of previous exam performance and the two years spent studying at their centre of education. However, colleges have announced that students are most likely going to have to sit exams in August which for many reasons is not fair. Each individual student living through this pandemic may be suffering from a personal loss, their mental health may have deteriorated, and they may not be in an environment where one feels they are able to work in. Will we still be able to start university as planned? Examinations in Autumn should be an option.
