The dog and human companionship dates back to early man ages. These two species have evolved together. Infact, human civilisation would not have been possible without dogs. But with urbanisation and lack of space, the humans are becoming  increasingly self centred. They no longer want to share either their food or space. There is a growing sense of entitlement which has turned humans into inhuman. Crime against dog, societal intolerance, abandonment are just few issues. It is imperative we examine our ways and carve a future which is thoughtful and inclusive.

Dogs need to exercise, run and socialise. A well exercised dog makes a better companion and has fewer health issues.  The cities have a dearth of open space, and whatever few parks are there, are exclusively for humans.  While its difficult to have separate dog parks in each locality, the solution is simple. Share the same space, just different timings. For instance, if humans use it from 5am -10am; then post that same space can be open for dogs till 5pm and then again for humans. Of course, certain rules need to be in place, like picking up poop and responsible pet parent behaviour. But this is so doable. 

It is a simple solution with better utilisation of the  limited space and resources. 

Lets all appeal and bring about this much needed change for our companions.
