We are petitioning to open up a section of Writing The Feature Film or Writing the Episodic TV series. Seniors who have yet to fulfill their writing requirement will have to take Writing the Documentary Film in the Spring 2022 semester. While this is a good option, especially for students who are interested in documentary, this class is not suitable for students solely interested in narrative film. We believe that narrative film writing courses should be available all year long, as not all seniors have the option to take this class in the fall and we are unable to take the class as a junior because of registration limitations. Students, who pay to be at this school, should not be penalised by a lack of class availability, especially for a requirement. Making Writing The Feature Film or Writing the Episodic TV series available next spring will allow students to take a class they are more passionate about and feel they making the most of their time at AU.
