Offering entrance scholarships to "freshman two" students without GPA restraints

Hello my fellow first-year students in AUS (American University of Sharjah)
This semester has been tough and challenging for all of us, eg Calculus, physics, etc. Even though the courses we took in this semester are nothing compared to the major courses, it was still a big leap and a rough transition from high school. Due to that, many people like me, weren't able to achieve their best, either because they couldn't adapt to the university system, or the course material was completely new to them, so it was even more challenging and more difficult. However, the office of Financial grants and Scholarship overlooked this problem that every first-year student goes through, when they decided to change the conditions of maintaining the entrance scholarship (either 10% or 20%) so that they would check your GPA from the first semester (freshman 1), instead of giving a second chance to students and checking their GPA in second semester (freshman 2) as they did in the past. As a result, many people, including me, are losing the scholarship and I'm afraid that I would transfer to another university as a consequence, due to the high tuition fees that the university impose on their students.
I'm inviting every student in AUS to sign this petition in order to make a change and let the Office of financial grants and scholarship change the policies of the entrance scholarship that they provide. I, like many others, want another chance to prove ourselves that we can be successful and achieve high GPA, so please help us in our goal.
