ALL OVER THE WORLD ! firework nuisance.

Dec 7, 2018 —

In every country around the world fireworks are a nuisance. Even in Holland where they are only allowed on NYE from 6pm to 2am on the 1st January, the young people are going off the idea.                                       "The enthusiasm for lighting fireworks over New Year's is decreasing among young Dutch people. Some 32 percent of 18 to 24-year-olds will probably light fireworks this coming New Year's, compared to 45 percent last year, according to an online survey by I&O Research among over 3 thousand people, NU.nl reports."

In USA, Michigan are cutting times allowed for firework use.          "Current Michigan law states that fireworks can legally be shot off by residents for 30 days per year, most of which surround holidays. However, a bill was passed by the House of Representatives yesterday that would cut that number down to 12 and also change the time allotment from 1 AM til 11:30 PM."

In New Zealand, the House of Representatives have been petitioned to stop the retail sale of fireworks.                                                            "That the House of Representatives pass legislation to prohibit the retail of fireworks, and institute licensing arrangements for individuals or organisations to responsibly detonate fireworks in public displays approved by the relevant territorial local authority."

Across the world the people are asking for a change in firework laws, I do so hope the UK won't be the last, holding on to this archaic and ridiculous 'tradition' of the public handling explosives.

To see the full gambit of firework news across the world join FAB Firework Campaign and help us change firework law.

PS.... my latest idea is to ask people not to start another petition but to join FAB and wait for our one. We have been extremely successful, achieving 3 government debates in 29 months. Please do not spilt the vote as it were..Together we are stronger.
