Students are paying rent for empty rooms because they followed government advice to return to their primary residence. And students also cannot receive financial help from the Government. Not every child has access to internet and pc, online teaching may not work also due to poor network coverage some students can’t keep up. Not all homes are conducive study environments. Students left their study materials at their residences and E-books are NOT FREE!!  We therefore ask Landlords to consider rent reductions, we understand the financial cost but we also ask them to consider the students and their families, the effects of having to meet this financial obligation is having on them. No one should be choosing between food or rent. Students are currently paying for storage that is equal to the rent money not even storage facilities are this expensive.
