Everyday many people and animals - mostly cows, dogs, puppies, squirrels die due to road accidents caused by high speed riding of vehicles. People cross the speed limits while driving within the city even in ordinary roads running over dogs, puppies and cows. Therefore the Speed Limit Signs should be installed in and around Bhubaneswar and the people should abide by that. Also in late nights in some places the streetlights are turned off after 10 pm in the night which cause fatal accidents in some areas. So the Streetlights should remain turned on throughout the night especially near some roads in Bhubaneswar.

Moreover this speed limit sign has been implemented in many other parts of the country and abroad. So this should be a mandatory and necessary requirement of any developed city.

According to a survey, the two-wheelers account for the highest share of road accidents. Mostly the causes of the accidents can be attributed to over speeding, avoiding safety driving measures and lack of traffic sense. The installation of Road Speed Limit Signs can help in this regard by spreading awareness and giving an alert message to the riders.

Along with people, many animals suffer due to reckless driving. The animals are also citizens of this country and state. People have a careless attitude and tend to ignore this fact. In some areas where accidents are reported, it is noted that the streetlights are turned off after 10 pm. In some areas also the streetlights appear dim. It is an earnest request to install the streetlights wherever these are required and keep them on throughout the night.

This would be the first step in helping to save lives of people and animals before it's too late.
