KLUB SINJANA, Zagreb has started a petition to rename a street or a city square in Zagreb after Dr. Marko Veselica.

Dr. Marko Veselica, the"Croatian Mandela", a symbol of Croatia’s struggle for independence from communist Yugoslavia, spent almost 12 years in Stara Gradiska and Lepoglava prisons. He was banned from public appearances and his passport was revoked by the communist regime in Yugoslavia.

By preserving the memories of people like Dr. Marko Veselica, we preserve the identity of Croats all over the world. Dr. Marko Veselica is a symbol of the struggle for freedom and justice, and as such, he must be remembered by new generations.
