The Oconee County Library has been located in Watkinsville for more than 40 years, and an excellent opportunity to keep it in the city limits is now here. Moving the library to the new Wire Park development will increase the size of the library, potentially minimize relocation costs, shorten the timeline to its opening and position it within a vibrant project that will revitalize a longtime community anchor.

Area residents will be able to walk or ride bikes to the new library, while those who drive will have hundreds of parking spots to be able to choose from. There also will be an outdoor gathering space for movies, discussions and community groups to meet.
